The Club at Parkwood Village

Parkwood Village Club and Golf Course required a business feasibility study to be undertaken for a proposed new integrated resort with a surf park and associated facilities at the existing golf course location on the Gold Coast. The business case for the first surf park resort in Queensland presents a major opportunity for the residents and visitors of the city. With only one other existing surf park at this point in time in Australia, the proposed development will leverage a large existing surfing population on the Gold Coast and strong international and domestic tourism arrivals. An integrated resort with a water attraction would provide a great opportunity for residents and tourists alike to engage in fun water-based activity in a tropical location.

Solution

The overall objective is to assess the feasibility of an integrated resort with a surf park at Parkwood Village on the Gold Coast. Pico Play has been engaged to ensure the master plan design development is fit for purpose as well as create the attendance and cash flow projections to assess development viability.

Results

Pico Play prepared a feasibility report on an independent basis and addressed all key components of a business case via a conservative and comprehensive approach based on the information and data currently available. A complete business feasibility is to support the overall investment and operational plan for the development of the resort.
