Into the Deep

Qiddiya – Into the Deep is an interactive, deep-sea–themed dark ride where guests board themed carts to shoot targets on large, curved screens. The experience takes visitors on an underwater mission to restore the ocean’s beauty and wonder.

The key challenge was creating immersive, high-quality theming that balanced mystery and adventure and strong visual storytelling while integrating seamlessly with the curved screens and ride technology.

To meet the challenge, Pico Play integrated the physical theming seamlessly with the interactive gameplay, working closely with design, media, and technical teams from fabrication to installation. Detailed mock-ups, precision FRP rockwork, and planned routes for lighting and electronics ensured every element aligned with the curved screens. On-site, the team refined sightlines, matched the theming to the ride path, and conducted coordinated testing with show control and media specialists. The most complex task was aligning the rockwork to the screen’s curvature, which was delivered with exceptional precision.

A fully engaging dark ride was delivered where seamless theming, lighting, and interactive screens combined to create a smooth, immersive, and visually cohesive interactive adventure. The client was extremely satisfied with the result and expressed strong interest in continued collaboration with Pico Play on future projects.
